Here we are meeting up at Memorial Park with Jack Lemnus, reporter and Crystal Vender Weit photographer for the TCPalm. Jack interviewed Gabby and Dorsey while Rhoshanda and I walked around with Aaliyah. So looking forward to see the talented Crystal and Jack put together a great news article and fabulous photos of such a loving family. Stay tuned for a great looking news article!

We WILL be delivering today. It is cold but Donny from Charlie’s Bar and Grill is cooking a hot meal tonight.
The cold weather shelter, at Gertrude Walden’s Daycare Center, will be open tonight, Monday at 5pm. Need to leave by 8pm.
Here’s a photo I took last night of the Full Snow Moon 🌕. It was a freezing Snow Moon.
Stay warm 💕
With warm regards,
Gail Harvey

Here is Jerry and Martha distributing the grocery bags with a cold drink (we may have to get coffee for this Monday). In every grocery bag is a bannana (Thanks to Cheri and Mary Ann), a bottle of water, a pop off the top can of spaghetti/ravioli, and a community made snack bag.
A community made snack bag is made by individuals or a group of people that fill a zip lock gallon bag with nonperishable snacks including an item with protein. Many times people from the community write encouraging notes and put them inside the snack bag. 🥰
Then Jerry brings out a cooler with Gatorades, Tea and Boost drinks. We gave out 52 grocery bags, and drinks on Monday. We serve some very kind, appreciative folks that are down on their luck 🍀. Thanks Jerry and Martha for making sure everyone gets food to take home. We know someone is really hungry when they will be talking to us, get their grocery bag, reach in for the banana and start eating it right away...

This is an amazing photo. Gabby said that she loves Memorial Park because that is where her coworkers at Willie Gary's law office gave her a celebration of life for her daughter that passed on unexpectantly 2 1/2 years ago.
This photo has a rainbow aura around Gabby, Dorsey and Aaliyah. None of the other photos has this distinct visual aura. Perhaps its Gabby's daughter and Aaliyah's deceased sister photo bombing the photo? What do you think??

Two miracles and counting... We went to the park to meet Gabby, Dorsey and family for an interview with Jack Lemnus, a reporter for TCPalm. Rhoshanda and I walked around with Aaliyah. She repeated "Ball" "Ball" "Ball" as we walked.
I was wishing I had packed a ball in my car. But then we spotted a stray tennis ball. Rhoshanda commented saying it was a miracle that Aaliyah manifested the balls into being by her repeating it. Then at the back of the court she found another tennis ball. It was like two Miracles!!
Now we just need to get Aaliyah to say "housing", "housing" "housing" to manifest a place for her and her family to stay indoors. For our next miracle!!

Thanks to Josh and Breanne Manchester-Estes for cooking a hot home made meal for us on Monday. It smelled delicious and got quite a few comments on its great flavor. Yesterday was the day for the Point-in-Time Survey. We all worked together interviewing people that are unhoused. This information is used by Housing and Urban development. It is federally required, comprehensive survey or individuals experiencing homelessness on a single night. Local Continuums of Care (CoCs) use this data to understand homelessness trends, inform policy and secure funding. We have so many people that are unhoused it is hard to survey them all.
Rhoshanda and myself worked all day trying to survey everyone that is unhoused. The team went to parks, libraries, Gas stations, causeways, and tent encampments hidden in the woods. Martha and Kathy were on the telephone calling our clients that have phones and filling the survey out over the phone. We have such a dedicated team. Thanks everyone that helped!

This made us laugh. One of our friends that are unhoused ask me if I could get a tent like this one? I stopped and looked closely, asking what kind of tent is it? Rex said it is one with two heaters. Hum I wasn’t sure if I had seen a tent before with built in heaters. Then I realized he was referring to the ladies in the tent. Haha 🤣 he tricked me and I was being serious…. Too funny!

Thanks to Joan who organized Pete and Heather Gurney of the Kiwanis Club of Martin County they made the most delicious elevated chili and rice. Everyone was commenting on how delicious the chili was on this cool Monday evening. Joan provided butter and rolls. I believe Nancie Burke provided the boxes of Girl Scout Cookies (they were left outside our front door). We have such an incredible group of people who work behind the scenes making our delicious food for Mondays. Thank you Pete and Heather Gurney your chili is famous with Tent City Helpers!!

Fantastic News!! We had Gina donate $1,000 and Brenda donate $100 to help with getting Aaliyah's ear surgery. They have to go to Miami for three appointments before surgery and then another trip to Miami for the surgery. Here I am handing Gabby a new backpack for Aaliyah with the donations in the front pocket. Gabby was so choked up and very thankful. Now we just need to find housing for this sweet family so they can leave Jurassic Allapattah Flats campground. Thanks again to Gina and Brenda you will never know how much this will help our sweet girl Aaliyah and her hearing. Thanks for being part of our caring and compassionate community!

🦋 The Butterfly Effect in Action 🦋
A heartfelt thank you to Ryanne Powers-Cavo, the daughter of the man who once used the walker, for ordering and having these much-needed cold weather items delivered to us. 💙
Because of her generosity, we now have socks, string bags, beanies with lights, gloves, and emergency blankets to help those facing the cold.
This is the butterfly effect—where a small act can create powerful, far-reaching change.
Someone asked us for a walker.
We became the conduit to get a donated walker to an unhoused woman.
And in return, we were gifted cold weather gear by the daughter of the man who once relied on that same walker.
Just like a butterfly’s wings can influence a storm, acts of kindness can create long-term change within a complex system.
If you’d like to be part of that ripple effect and help the most vulnerable in our community, please consider donating to our mission.

This was our Wawa stop on Monday. Last week, Mandy had asked for a walker for her hip pain. When we got back from deliveries, the same day, I got a text from a follower asking if we could use a walker. Wow the universe answered! the next day we had a walker donated. This week we delivered the walker to Mandy. She was very happy to receive a nice practically new walker. Thanks to the donor we appreciate you and your great timing!

Thanks to everyone who helped this family out. They bought a new car and our donors came up with $300 to help out. They are still driving back and forth from Allapattah Flats Campground. Aleah had a seizure this morning and the family is traveling to Miami on Monday to see her specialist Doctor. The medication needs to be updated again. This is such a sweet hard working family. They are so appreciative that Tent City Helpers filled their gas tank up and had raised $300. They said that they needed a blessing to even be able to get to their doctor and this enables them to go to Miami. Gabby told us she was not cold camping on those cold nights. She said all the encouraging kind comments in the posts made her warm in heart ♥️.
If you would like to donate specifically to help Gabby’s family get out of the Florida Jurassic Allapattah campground you can go to Www.tentcityhelpers.org and hit the donate button, then write a note 📝 for Gabby and we will make sure her sweet, hardworking, appreciative family will get it. It was a "Christmas Miracle". This young man at our back of Wawas stop said, "Ma'am is there anyway I could get on our bike waitlist." This was on Monday at Flagler Park. This is our friend Gabby and Roshanda. We were able to find the prefect jacket for Gabby and another for her daughter Aleah. They have used up there time at all the local campgrounds and is having to stay at the Allapattah Flats Campsite. I have hiked there and it is Florida's Jurassic Park. I was raised locally and have seen plenty of gators, but the one I saw while hiking at Allapattah Flats was like 14 feet long and like 2 feet tall. Truly a dinosaur. I did a 180 degree turn and told my husband I was going back to the car. I swore I would never hike there again unless I had a bucket of Kentucky fried chicken with me. That way if that dinosaur gator came after me I would have a distraction to through at the gator.
The reason I tell you this is because Gabby and her partner and two teenage daughters are camping there. What the heck there are empty tent sites locally and they have to move on. What happens when there time runs out there?
We need a family shelter. They have to drive their daughter to high school, their other daughter to medical day care and then her Partner goes to work. That is a 40 minute drive one way, 80 miles round trip.
People should not be priced out of housing to have to camp in a Jurassic Campground. We are hoping things turn around for this family soon. Roshanda is on the search for something that is afforable.

💙 Community in Action 💙
This is Antonio and MacKenna this afternoon.
Antonio recently had his bike stolen after being assaulted, and he asked us if—if—we ever got any bikes donated, he could really use one. 💔 Who beats up a man who’s 6'7" and then takes his bike?
But today is about hope and kindness.
Huge thanks to The Club on the River at River Club for stepping up in a big way. They started a bike fund and raised $220, which will be used to refurbish bikes for our unhoused friends. 🚲💛
Because of this generosity, Antonio now has a bike and can get to his job interview next week. His smile said everything. We shared air hugs right there on Martin Luther Blvd. 🫶
A special shoutout to John from Procycles, who traded one of our donated racing cycles for this awesome, practically new bike.
This is what community looks like. This is why we do what we do.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this moment happen. 💙

We are in need of snack bags. We have been giving out an average of 60 snack bags a week. This week we are out... if anyone can make us some snack bags it would be great. Just take a gallon ziploc and put 6 or 7 snacks in it. We like at least one item to have some form of protein and for items it not be too hard or crunchy considering we serve some people with teeth issues. You could get together with your friends, book club, work place or just put some together on your own. The people we serve are often hungry and appreciate the food. Those that work often tell us they can take it for their lunch at work. It takes a village and we are in need of some snack bags.
Thanks in advance for any amount of snack bags you can donate. Call us and we will arrange a drop off. Message us or call us at 772-341-7553 if you can assemble some.

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Service — This GivingTuesday! 🎉
Tent City Helpers | Non-Profit 501(c)(3)
This month marks a truly special milestone for Tent City Helpers — 10 years of serving our local residents who struggle with housing. What began as a small, grassroots effort has grown into a vital support system for some of our community’s most vulnerable neighbors.
Every Monday, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we provide:
🍲 A hot meal
🛒 Groceries
🥤 A cold drink
⛺ Camping supplies and essentials
This year alone, we’ve served over 2,600 meals and distributed hundreds of tents and countless cans of insect repellent to help keep our neighbors safe and sheltered.
As a fully non-governmental, community-supported organization, we depend entirely on people like you. Your kindness fuels our mission and ensures we can keep showing up week after week.
👉 On this GivingTuesday, please consider making a donation to help us continue providing compassionate, consistent, and essential care to our most in-need residents.

This was our Wawa stop (actually behind Wawa). The sun was setting and one of our families in the car are heading to the gas pump. Josh offered to fill up their gas tank and they were very happy to accept. While Camping at Jonathan Dickerson Park it takes a lot of gas to get the kids to school and dad to work everyday. We appreciate Josh for being so kind and generous.
If you want to be kind and generous too, please donate to Tent City Helpers GivingTuesday fundraiser. GivingTuesday is December 2, 2025, Step out of your comfort and help out with our service to help those struggling to survive.

"Truly I tell you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me."
From AI (using AI for bible verses, LOL) .... this quote is a core teaching from the Bible emphasizing that acts of kindness and compassion towards those who are marginalized, poor, sick, or in need are considered acts of service directly to God. The phrase is often used to highlight the importance of treating all people with respect and dignity, regardless of their circumstances.
Thanks Josh for being a role model of kindness and generosity.💕

It was a Miracle... Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council had been looking for Chris our Marine Veteran. Chris showed up to our Iglesia Lugares Celestiales stop. Rhoshada was in shock that she finally connected with Chris who does not have a phone. Chris was in shock that Rhoshada had housing for him and was picking him up the next day to take him to his housing opportunity. We all were super happy for Chris and a few tears were shed... Happy Tears...
Through my happy tears may I ask our supporters to donate on or before December 2, GivingTuesday. This is the time of year that we depend on donations to carry us through next year. We have served 2,577 meals this year and provided supplies, resources and compassion to our local unhoused residents.

We missed Jerry Monday evening. He had gone to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving with his family. He always jokes with us that we need 6 ladies to replace him. Well Jerry here are 9 ladies that tried to replace you... You are irreplaceable but we managed very well. You may of been absent but we were still thinking of you!
Please do not be absent and miss your chance in supporting the service we provide for our local unhoused folks. GivingTuesday is Dec. 2 just around the corner. Please donate to keep our service top notch.

Happy Thanksgiving! Here is our Veteran friend, Vinny. He is getting a hot holiday meal from Josh, Serenity and Camila. Serenity is the sweet angelic child that inspired the non-profit "Giving Grace". Tent City Helpers was also inspired by a child, Antonio Solomon, Tony and Stacy Solomon's son. By children asking about unhoused people and where do they go? There has been at least two non-profit's born.
Matthew 18:3: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
This is the time of year that we recieve most of our donations. Please participate in our GivingTuesday fund on or before Dec. 2nd. You can find it at: https://www.facebook.com/donate/1194940459438538/
Thanks in advance!

Happy Thanksgiving! We asked our newly housed Veteran couple, Ryan and Marla, what they wanted for a house warming gift and they said a Turkey. So we delivered a Turkey a few days ago and today we are delivering a Thanksgiving meal donated from Charlie's Bar and Grill. Leslie is donating festive decorations to decorate too!
We so appreciate Ryan's service to his country. Ryan and Marla have an incredible love story. It looks like they are going to have a Happy Thanksgiving to add to their good memories! We are grateful to know Ryan and Marla and be able to bring them some joy this Thanksgiving 🦃.
Remember GivingTuesday is December 2, 2025. Thanks to Jodi Cordon with the non-profit "Giving Grace" for cooking a great holiday meal. Thanks to her daughter Julia and granddaughters who served up the delicious meal. We served 58 people who are unhoused at our six stops. The Girls were extra helpful with lots of energy... So appreciated by our friends that are struggling with housing.

This is our stop behind Wawa's in south Stuart. This cold afternoon a cup of coffee hit the spot. So happy to have Jan as our newest volunteer. Jan had always told us when she lived in her van that when she could she would volunteer. Well so happy that Jan is living in a house and helping us distribute clothes and blankets. Josh is also volunteering after his work. He is so generous. Then we have Rhoshanda with her new vest on that we gave her for veterans Day. We are a happy crew on this beautiful crisp Monday afternoon.

MacKenna is back and spreading her love 💕 we had pizza for our little family living at different campgrounds until the rules of how long they can stay are enforced and then they move to another campground. We need a shelter and need affordable housing. We need a safe place for families to stay until they are back on their feet again. Families, especially those with children with handicaps need emergency shelter. Why does Martin County not have a Shelter?

This is our Memorial stop on Monday. It was great to have Jan as a volunteer! She use to live in her van and now lives in a house. She used her van Monday to distribute blankets, clothing and shoes. Then we have Vicki showing off a sweater. Frankie has his meals and supplies for the week. Then we have Rhoshanda from the Treasure Coast Services Council filling out paperwork on the go... She has one of those standing desks without the desk. LOL...
